Maybelline The Nudes Palette

Maybelline The Nudes Palette
Although the Maybelline The Nudes Palette is obviously pointed at nudes and neutrals, I’d say it’s more of a brown tone palette – there’s nothing wishy-washy about it at all. The colours are all very rich and a mix of shimmer and matte. It’s Maybelline’s first ever nude palette and bearing in mind that the world is awash with nude palettes, it’s offering up something more than just apologetic nuances of beige.... Read more

NARS Christopher Kane Collection

NARS Christopher Kane Collection
NARS Christopher Kane Collection
Oh my! The NARS Christopher Kane Collection is sumptuous stuff… I’ve deliberately not looked for sneak peeks as I wanted to see the collection in the flesh before seeing it on line. It’s more than lived up to expectations. NARS is a bit hit and miss at the moment – but this is definitely a hit. The collection is called Neoneutral and I guess this is embodied best by the gloss selection. They’re following the trend for washes of colour (if you love a Bobbi gloss, then you should take a second look at these) and while they look super bright, on the lip, they’re translucent hints.... Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lip gloss

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lip Gloss
See, I’m SO easily won over by a good lipgloss! The Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lip Gloss collection is no exception; there are several colours that I’d wear in a heart-beat and are heading straight into my handbag. It’s not completely clear to me – although UD fans will know straight away – which colours are existing in other formulas and which are new, but I’ll run through all the colours any way.... Isadora Wonder Nail Summer 201

Isadora Summer Nails
I was having a Twitter conversation last night about how products are so readily available across all countries that holiday beauty shopping ain’t what it used to be! Isadora is one of the few brands that we can’t get in the UK and well worth looking out for when you’re away in Europe. It’s the only non-UK brand that I feature regularly because the products are such good quality and somehow, they always make me smile.... Read more

Givenchy Le Rouge Couture Back In Stock

Givenchy Le Rouge
When I initially posted about the Givenchy Le Rouge Couture Edition, it had sold out absolutely everywhere. I wanted to flag it as a mother’s day present, so you can see how much this boat is missed by! However, I’ve just got word of a very limited re-stock over at Escentual.... Read more.

Physician’s Formula City Glow Palettes

Physician's Formula New York
Physician’s Formula New York
It’s so frustrating that we don’t have good availability of Physician’s Formula in the UK. A while back I was contacted by someone asking me to review PF products as they were making an entry into the UK, but other than the odd piece in TK Maxx, I’ve never seen it appear as a mainstream brand in the UK. Which is a massive pity because the Physician’s Formula City Glow Palettes are all kinds of cove table... Read more

In The Mood For Flowers

There’s nothing like a change of season to make me want all things pretty and floral. Having spent the bank holiday weekend on the coast where it rained and drizzled so much we headed home to London and the sunshine, I just wanted to find all the pretty and bright things in my stash. It’s helping that the sun is streaming through the French doors from the garden right now and all my Easter daffs are now in full bloom.... Read more

Lancome Creme Blush Summer 2015

The Lancome Creme Blush Summer 2015 collection is exactly perfect! I am such a fan of a creme blush and the textures on these are sublime, being slightly moussy, too. You only need the tiniest dab to get a semi translucent pop of colour (the most over-used term in beauty, I know) that gives a fresh looking flush (is that the second most over-used?... Read more

Clarisonic Black Jaguar

Clarisonic Black Jaguar

Oh, lookie! I don’t use my beloved Clarisonic as often as I used to but it’s still in very regular use – I have some of the very fine heads – the Cashmere Cleanse – that they brought out a while ago so if you ever wanted to find out what it feels like to have your face tickled by ducklings, that’s it!... L’Oreal Paris La Palette Nude

I’m so pleased to lay eyes on this at last! I’ve tried to buy it in five different Boots stores and it had sold out completely, so I’m glad a sample has turned up. L’Oreal Paris La Palette Nude Rose is really a perfect nude palette for those who like their nudes without bronze tones and a shed of glimmer. The colour selection stays firmly in the pink spectrum and actually reminds me of Ellis Faas colours where tones are lead by colours you’d naturally find on the human body – bit bruisy in some places but all the more beautiful for it.... L’Oreal Paris Prodigy Hair Colour

Prodigy
I’ve finally given L’Oreal Paris Prodigy Hair Colour a go – it takes a great deal to make me stray from Olia but with the whisper that amonia free Prodigy is the next generation Olia, I had to give it a try.... Read more

Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Refresh Infusion

IMG_0652

If it’s glam skin care you’re after, Erno Laszlo fits the bill. I’ve posted previously on this brand, founded by Dr Erno Laszlo and used by a gazillion celebrities including Marilyn Monroe (Dr. L used to whip up bespoke formulas for his famous clientelle). I’ve used several of the products, but I’ll say straight away that this newest product into the range, Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Refresh Infusion, isn’t tested yet, so it’s more information only....  Read more

Ciate Colour Cosmetics

IMG_0619There are so many items in the forthcoming Ciate Colour Cosmetics collection that I’m going to split the posts up. If you’ve been following the brand’s Instagram then you’ll already have seen these little mushroom blushers. Although they look really shiny in the pot, once on the skin, they’re not nearly as gleaming and diffuse really well onto the cheeks for natural looking, light colours. For testing, I just dabbed the blush ball to my cheek and then blended with my fingertips but I think next time I might use a brush.... Read more

T London Darjeeling Hand Wash

T London Darjeeling Hand Wash

I’m so not a fancy tea fan – the most adventurous I’ll go is a rose tea but even then if I had the chance to swap it mid-china cup to a mug of Tetley, I would! I remember being given my first ever cup of Earl Grey when I was about 15 by a friend of my parents, and thinking she’d mistakenly dropped some furniture polish in it.... Read more

Janjira Massage Candle

Janjira Massage Candle

I love the Janjira brand – particularly their bath and body products, so I knew straight away that I would like the new Janjira Massage Candle. Let me make it clear that I’m not all that likely to do the massage bit (it’s Easter, not Mr BBB’s birthday ;-)) but in terms of scent, it’s lovely.... Read more

Dr Lewinns Multi Moisture Balm

IMG_0626

There are plenty of multi purpose products out there, and plenty that claim multi-purpose but leave you scratching your head about what those might be (BB creams are particularly confusing on this). The Dr Lewinns Multi Moisture Balm really is one of those handy balms that will do so many things it should be a beauty cupboard staple. And, it’s orange – I love orange.... Read more

Moa Fortifying Green Bath Potion

Actually, I felt like doing a Tom Jones style ‘yeah’ when I smelled the Moa Fortifying Green Bath Potion! It’s about as near to bathing in an extra strong mint as you’re likely to get and absolutely a jolt of mental vitality for the woefully tired. It’s the same Moa as the famous Moa Balm and the brand has undergone a much needed packaging revamp.... Read more
